Amazing teachers and staff. Students are pretty friendly and there is quite a bit of diversity at the school though there could be more embracing of this. There are great opportunities both academically, athletically and socially. Lots of great school spirit as well! I wish there was more improvement in the music area and some of the facilities need to be a little better. The school is getting a bit overcrowded and we have been having to use more portables now. There is a little too much emphasis on test scores and grades though between students.
I believe that Walter Johnson High School is a very welcoming environment for anyone and has opened many opportunities for people. The teachers are motivated and passionate about what they do, making the classrooms fun and exciting. Many of my teachers througohut the years have made me feel excited to learn! Additioanlly, the school, in general, is well kept up and is filled with lovely staff. The staff tries to push their students to be the best they can be, in and outside of school. The school tries to accomadate for everyone and is a safe place where students come to learn, which is very important. The school makes sure to broadcast to the student body that everyone is accepted while teaching us life lessons we will have with us for college and so on. Overall, Walter Johnson has been an amazing place for me to learn and to better myself, and I know other would say the same.
I give WJ 5 stars because it is so developed in every way and big enough to film a whole high school movie. It has a great media center as well as a great number of other resources such as a college/career center, counseling offices, clubs, arts programs, and many more. It is so diverse and accepts any student, no matter where they come from. It honestly resembles a mini college because of its ginormous sports fields and school spirit. All in all, its the perfect place to be!
