I have two daughters that are currently attending Walter Johnson High School. Both are in the APEX and one plays a sport. We've been very impressed with the rigor of the APEX program and the overall quality of the teachers at Walter Johnson. The teachers tend to be very engaged in the subject they are teaching and interested in helping kids succeed. The downsides to the school are the very large class sizes - around 30 kids per class. In addition, I wish Montgomery County had a dress code.

Walter Johnson is a very good school. We have a very diverse school with many different students, all very accepting of each other. The teachers and administration are in general very friendly and helpful. If you come in with a problem, they take the time to try and help you. Not to mention that there are so many different clubs and courses to take, its difficult to choose. However, the school is overcrowded. Going through the hallways to your next class can become a battle, weaving through tons of other students in hallways that are no longer wide enough. There are so many students, it's difficult to find time with the administration to get the help. Also, depending on the courses you take, there is a hard workload. Overall its a great school, but the competitiveness can be overwhelming and the growing student body makes accessing resources and getting to class more difficult.
I have had a wonderful experience at Walter Johnson. The principal, counselor and teachers have provided me guidance whenever I needed their help.
The school has an immense support system that doesn't turn you away when you need the most.
There are plenty of clubs to choose from and great many sports activities to select. I just wish they had a separate badminton court for the game I love.
