This is a wonderful caring community of students and top-notch faculty. Real learning happens here! The teachers truly care, and because of its small size, they also truly get to know your child. How they have managed to create such a harmonious, and diverse community with such small numbers is remarkable. Do not overlook this school because it doesn't have a fancy campus, umpteen clubs etc. What happens in that building is amazing and we are so glad our son landed here.

I had two children attend this high school. The teachers were very caring and worked with the students to build a respectful community. Both of my kids are now attending very competitive colleges and feel they were very well-prepared for college-level work. They were also able to pursue other activities that were important to them outside of school. We highly recommend! (If you want a fancy physical plant or need a hyper- competitive sports program, you should probably look elsewhere.)
Waldorf is best for motivated students with an open mind. It's difficult to summarize all of my experience, but it was a generally positive one.

The small size of the school can be really limiting (i.e. little variety in difficulty of the classes- a near-fluent student will probably be in the same Spanish class as a student who has never spoken it before in their life). The teachers do their best to meet the needs of every student, but it isn't perfect.

Waldorf is a really unique school that provided me with a lot of opportunities I can't imagine having gotten anywhere else. At Waldorf we biked across Nantucket, went tide-pooling on Hermit Island in Maine, kayaked to Plum Island, etc etc. The exchange program is fantastic- students can choose to attend a Waldorf school in a foreign country for a couple months while living with a host family. I went to Argentina and had a great experience.
