Very diverse school with manly, wonderful teachers who care about their students' success in their classes.
It's a nice school and very welcoming to everyone. The staff are very supportive and the other students are friendly.
I have only been at wakefield for one year and it was cut short because of covid. Now in my sophomore year online I can see all the dedication and support that all the teachers and admin do to help us during this difficult time. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
I felt like the school has prepared me for college. I also felt that the teachers cared if their students were learning and tried to keep a healthy environment.
These past 4 years I've spent at Wakefield high school was very good. I love the diversity, having to meet new people from all over and the supportive counselors.
I really loved the school community and the support from the staff. The school itself is new and clean. The principal is amazing and actually listens to students. I've had good relationships with most of my teachers and overall I have enjoyed my experience at Wakefield.
A friendly school with high-quality teachers(for the most part). Great sports programs, coaches, and equipment. Most of the teachers and counselors are eager to help students in need. A majority of the counselors will fight for your courses and help you find what classes are best for you and your path. It is very rare that someone is forced into a course. The principal is great, friendly, understanding, and welcoming, as well as the class administrators. Students get MacBook airs, and the school has a reasonably sized library, town hall, sports field, and a large indoor basketball gym. The higher tier stem classes such as Physics-C, Calculus(BC& multi var), AP Bio, etc. Have great teachers; Only a few of the lower courses have sub-par staff.
ps. Start the college process early no matter where you go!

From the time I entered Arlington and stepped foot in Wakefield High School I must say that it wasn’t a bad experience at all. I learned a lot of new things from this school and most of these things were outside of academic learning. The school is very diverse which is something I like because I am able to have different friend groups and learn about different cultures. The school has many activities and clubs that you can be apart of and feel welcomed. I play football and I am also apart of a group called cohort which involves minority men in the school that maintain good grades. I did not join the chess club but I did participate with them because I was interested in learning how to play. I found chess actually fun to play once you know the rules and it was a good experience. The one thing I can say about this school is that it is very eye opening and it exposes you to a lot of new things.
I really admire the diversity of Wakefield High School. People from different places all over the world are in one building, learning alongside one another at the same time at a similar pace. I also really like participating in school activities and clubs which help strengthen our bonds with one another. Furthermore, teachers have done an amazing job preparing us for college and without all of their support, we wouldn't be where we are today.
I really felt involved with Wakefields Clubs and Programs as there is one for every field of interest. Wakefield encourages everybody to be the strongest person they can be which shaped me to be the person I am today.
I liked the atmosphere at wakefield high school. Every time I would walk into school I would be greeted and see people I knew and loved to talk to. The administrators were very open and easy to talk to and I knew I always would be able to have my voice heard.
In my experience, Wakefield can be hit or miss, some teachers are wonderful and some can seem unreasonable and frustrating. It can seem like the staff is against you, and for the most minute offenses, like wearing a hat inside, or staying after school to finish homework. The building is relatively new so thats a plus, but the water fountains and toilets will often malfunction.
Am senior at Wakefield higher school and I’ve seen so many amazing things about Wakefield high school and I would love to share with everyone. At Wakefield everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I love the community at Wakefield, because the community helps so many students to accomplish their short term and long term educational goals. For example, volunteer, clubs, leadership and collaboration with people. Also the principles Dr: Willmore and the amazing teachers are very cheerful.
My experience at Wakefield has had so many ups and downs and allowed me to have a new perspective on things. Wakefield was able to give me the chance to meet and befriend people from so many different types of backgrounds. Walking the hallways you could see all the different colors and styles. It was a place that I could really express myself and not feel left out. I had some of my best memories in the beginning of my high school years and I can honestly say that I will cherish those days. While it was a great place there were still a few issues and situations that effected the experience I had. Since covid-19 I lost the chance to have a great and memorable senior year. From what Ive seen in the previous years I could tell that I missed out on a lot. It really taught me to be grateful for the things I have and prepare me for my future.
The teachers are amazing. They are so caring while also teaching the content so that you will actually remember it.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Wakefield. People often compare Wakefield to the other Arlington schools, Yorktown and Washington-Lee, and while the school may not be on the aforementioned schools' level academically, the incredibly diverse student-body, teachers that care, and amazing facilities make Wakefield an excellent school as well. Wakefield is unique in that it offers students the opportunity to continue with Spanish-Immersion up until their Junior Year, and offers the AP Capstone Diploma, a valuable resource for college preparedness. Wakefield offers all the resources of a great high school, and has left me very satisfied with my education up to this point.
Wakefield is awesome! Diverse students, lots of school spirit, and very supportive teachers and staff! The school building itself is also super nice and modern!
