Turning young women into future leaders, Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy is an amazing school with challenging curriculum, very helpful teachers, and a positive, competitive environment that will encourage you to try your hardest to reach your highest goals. I have attended this school for four years now; I can say with confidence that I would pick no other school! This all-female environment gives the quieter students a voice in classrooms and on campus and allows the more outspoken students to listen to their fellow classmates. The strong sisterhood warmly welcomes every student. No matter the race, religion, or background, every student will feel at home here. Go OWLS!

My experience overall at Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy, WYWLA for short, has been gratifying. I have enjoyed building relationships with my classmates and teachers over the past six years, I am appreciative of being an early college student and having the opportunity to attend college classes, having access to resources, going on amazing field trips and hearing from stellar speakers. In the future, I would like to see the school allow more leadership from students, a wider variety of clubs and classes, especially AP classes, and more awareness for mental health.
Some things that I like about Wake Young Women’a Leadership Academy is the support system, sister hood, and the challenges. The courses that we take are mostly all honor courses that will prepare us for college. The courses will be hard but with the hard work and dedication you will be able to get over the obstacles. Our sisters are always there to help and support each other. 6th-10th grade prepares us for college because in the 11th grade we begin to take college courses at Saint Augustine’s University, which we are well prepared for.
