Wonderful teachers and staff, great energy and support, and an amazing Arts department. There are a lot of ways to get involved in the school and in the community. Teachers are always encouraging us and helping us, even with things that aren’t required of them. There is a seating area outside the cafeteria which is great, and the whole school is filled with art. We have murals and an art display. The media center constantly decorates their big windows. Teachers and staff are always in the hallways in between classes, ready to assist with anything. Important information is communicated quickly and efficiently. We have access to a number of resources for many different things such as job searches, college searches, scholarship opportunities, clubs, events, contests, etc. Most students are respectful and accepting to others who are different from themselves. They encourage each other to be successful and get good grades. The school has an amazing environment for growth and learning.
I have a rising senior and rising freshman. I have been very happy with the teachers and the education my child has received. Like with most schools, there are great teachers and not so great teachers. I feel that the leadership of WFHS could be so much stronger. I have been very disappointed in the communication from the administration over the years but it has been more noticeable during the pandemic. There is little to none unless it is something that is resent from the district. Come on ...do better! Lead this school!
At Wake Forest High School, I have had an overall great experience. I was home-schooled before coming to WFHS, so my experience was albeit different and nerve-racking at first. However, WFHS has multiple opportunities in clubs, sports, and extra-curriculars that it wasn't long before I felt comfortable there. Despite there being so many students at the school, administration is pretty on top of things. My teachers have also been amazing!
