I love that the teacher’s REALLY care about the students! Not just the student’s education, but even if they know or see that the student isn’t doing so well personally, they’ll check up on that student. I should know, every time a teacher saw me visually upset, they’d always ask if I was okay. I personally wouldn’t want anything at the school to change. I think the school’s perfectly fine the way it is!

I would like to see them offer more AP classes that include English and Social Studies. We have a lot of STEM AP classes. However, our high school offers an early college program where students can obtain their Associate's degree the same time as their diploma. They also offer amazing internships and volunteer opportunities. We also partnered up with Hawaii USA to have our own bank at the school. We are also partnered up with the Honolulu Police Department. With this background, we have academies and programs of study. There is Academy of Health and Sciences, Academy of Industrial Engineering Technology, Academy of Professional and Public Services, Academy of Arts and Communication, and Academy of Natural Resources. Students can choose which academy to enter based on their career pursuits. Waipahu High School is an amazing school that really showcases school spirit. Every year, there is a homecoming week that pins each grade level against each other.
Waipahu High School has a lot of great opportunities given to you that no other school in the state of Hawaii has. We have the most advanced early college program and we offer more than 50 college courses. In addition, our school has the nation’s first Phi Theta Kappa chapter, a college honor society, at a high school. Our school is also divided into academies based on your preferred pathway. We have an academy for health and sciences, arts and communications, natural resources, engineering, and public and professional services. The staff on campus are pretty nice and the extracurriculars here have helped built my character and leadership skills.
