Voyagers' Community School Reviews
Rating 4.88 out of 5 8 reviews
Voyagers’ is like no other school. Every student is valued and the teachers are committed to teaching to each child. The students spend a lot of time outdoors and there is a big emphasis on community and civic responsibility. We love that our daughter spends time with students of different ages/grades and that there is such mutual respect between the students and teachers. For the past seven years our daughter has been excited to wake up and go to school every day. Her curiosity and love of learning is exactly what makes Voyagers’ so great!
Voyagers' Community School is a school the emphasizes community to its core. The staff work hard for the students and try their best to find various opportunities for them to grow. However, the one fault is sometimes the teachers feed too much into what the students want (easier work) and end up disadvantaging other students that want more challenging work. Though the teachers are working on preventing this from happening. The one major concern is communication that affects the progress of a lot of things and affects the students' relationship with the people in a higher power. Students don't feel comfortable (or know how to) share their goals with teachers and higher-ups; two things can happen because of this, the student becomes very independent and managing their goals, or they become lost. Though they are working on it, to improve themselves. However, this is a school that is constantly evolving changing up its curriculum to fit with the time and world events.
It was incredible to find an educational environment that matches my child's instincts for learning. The outdoor school model for middle schoolers was a gift during the pandemic but has also opened up a whole world of self-driven, curiosity-based education for my daughter. We love her teachers and are grateful to have her spend her days in a progressive and community-minded school.
