From Visitation Academy

Visitation Academy is an independent Catholic school that encourages students to develop their unique gifts in an environment that values excellence in scholarship, spirituality, leadership, and service. Our co-ed Montessori program has 50+ years of experience helping children ages 2-Kindergarten reach their full potential. Viz also has the area’s only all-girls program for grades 1-12. We understand the ways girls learn and create an educational experience that promotes curiosity, free expression, and problem-solving; builds confidence; and allows students to, in the words of our founder St. Francis de Sales, “be who you are and be that well.” A vibrant fine arts program, diverse entrepreneurial studies, inclusive yet competitive athletics program, and numerous extracurricular clubs and service opportunities complement our commitment to academic excellence. Viz girls are poised, intelligent, self-assured young women, positioned for success in our classrooms, in college, and in life.

I have had an excellent experience at Visitation Academy! I have an amazing support system, those who go above an beyond to see that each girl reaches her fullest potential. Thank you Viz, faculty!

I truly feel I am well equipped to tackle my next endeavor....college!

I have spent nearly six years at Visitation Academy, and I cannot picture myself at any other school in the St. Louis area. Viz has so much to offer young women as they grow in faith and knowledge. I feel supported by teachers and administration but also challenged by my extracurricular activities and coursework to become more independent in my learning. There are a few things that I wish Viz would improve upon. For example, I have been involved with the impressive Viz arts program for the past six years, and I believe that Viz should build a new theater. More importantly, I think Viz needs to work on diversity. Being a Catholic school in West County, Viz typically pulls students from Catholic K-8 schools nearby. I think tuition assistance and other services would help students from other areas. Nevertheless, I have received a very well-rounded education at Viz and I am very thankful for this. I am excited for college because Visitation Academy has truly prepared me for the future.
I'm rating Viz from the perspective of a parent. I've watched my daughter grow and mature there. The curriculum is academically rigorous, which supports its reputation as the best girls school in St. Louis and one of the best overall. I've also seen my daughter make deep connections with her friends at school. She participates in activities such as student government, sports, and theatre and is growing into a well-rounded individual. The teachers are top notch and supportive of the students and the parents. I can't say enough good things about my daughter's Viz experience.
