From Visitation Academy

Visitation Academy is an independent Catholic school that encourages students to develop their unique gifts in an environment that values excellence in scholarship, spirituality, leadership, and service. Our co-ed Montessori program has 50+ years of experience helping children ages 2-Kindergarten reach their full potential. Viz also has the area’s only all-girls program for grades 1-12. We understand the ways girls learn and create an educational experience that promotes curiosity, free expression, and problem-solving; builds confidence; and allows students to, in the words of our founder St. Francis de Sales, “be who you are and be that well.” A vibrant fine arts program, diverse entrepreneurial studies, inclusive yet competitive athletics program, and numerous extracurricular clubs and service opportunities complement our commitment to academic excellence. Viz girls are poised, intelligent, self-assured young women, positioned for success in our classrooms, in college, and in life.

Visitation Academy is a really good school academically. Since the school is small it is easier for students and teachers to form a relationship, which really helps when falling behind in the class! The teachers are very helpful and understanding. Overall, Visitation Academy has a really good academic atmosphere.

This school continues to focus on the staff. For example, Catholic Schools Week-the first post was about how great the teachers are and most publications focus on the staff rather than the students. Perhaps, that is the reason the school consistently scores in the 70s on Niche. Low scores for a school that should be exceptional for 23k (not 19K as indicated on Niche). Only 76% of students feel happy at their school according to Niche? The leadership continues to ignore parent and student suggestions for improvement and valid concerns with staff members who are not living Jesus. The price continues to go up for an average education in which the emphasis is not on the students. No subs when teachers are absent, and teachers take extended vacations during the school year. A partnership between home and school is non-existent.
I have had an excellent experience at Visitation Academy! I have an amazing support system, those who go above an beyond to see that each girl reaches her fullest potential. Thank you Viz, faculty!

I truly feel I am well equipped to tackle my next endeavor....college!
