I like that the school had many good educators, especially those who worked in the arts departments. My school was built for safety and architectural beauty. I was always comfortable, and the student staff was small so I knew about everyone, and felt comfortable learning amongst them, to participate. I thought I earned a lot of help to focus and get into a good college.

Vinalhaven is a small island school. I liked the opportunity for academic advancement which this school offered me. I was able to complete all graduation standards by the end of my Junior year so was allowed to take several early college courses my Senior year. I was also a part of all sports offered and the school worked with me when I wanted to create a youth sports program. This school also provided several fundraising and scholarship opportunities for travel and study abroad programs. Due to its location administration and faculty is constantly changing which does create a problem where grading for classes are concerned. This school is too small to be considered big and too big to be considered small which creates some issues where overall community support and student happiness is concerned.
My children go to Vinalhaven School and I wouldn't send them to any other school. The school is beautiful and the teachers are amazing they get to know each child and help then with exactly what they need to know.
