Village is a good school. Academics are great and it has prep my child for college life! This is a Christian academy which has been a part of my child's life since he was in preschool. I've seen changes at Village throughout the years, some for the best and some for the worse but all in all, this school has stood the test of time! Village has really prepared my son for college and has caused doors of opportunity to open up on his behalf due to having a high academic standard. The greatest part of my son attending this school, is it's Christ centered focus. Not only did they prepare him academically but spiritually as well. With the many ever changing events and difficulties occurring in life, Village has played a part in my son understanding how to overcome life obstacles without a defeated mentality. It has pointed my son to a source greater than any human ability or strength. A Source much greater than I but well able to relate to life issues, that source is God.

I came to Village my sophomore year. For my sophomore year and junior year I loved village. I came from a big public school which had a lot of riff-raff students so coming to a private school, I never thought I would deal with that. My first two years at Village were great! Everyone knew everyone, I loved all of my teachers and it was a very nice fit for me. As of my senior year, Village recruited some students from Raleigh, and I was back to dealing with the riff-raff students... Half of Villages teachers left and now it’s hard to get a good teacher who cares about you grades. They on communication with the students. Some things I would like to see changed are better teachers and sending the riff-raff students back to Raleigh!!
VCA provided our daughter with academically challenging courses. It is a positive aspect of the school that Bible is a mandatory class taught each year and covers various subjects that are meant to help students face different challenges and situations. Smaller class size is another positive. There are many opportunities for kids- student government, sports, art, dance, drama, music and many clubs. The teachers send notes of encouragement to the parents when the semester is almost over to remind the students to stay focused.
