Vicksburg High School is located in a small town, so everyone knows everyone. It feels nice to know everyone because you all can connect on a more personal level. Although, this small town feel does not stop you from gaining the real high school experience. This school caters to everyone based off of their needs, which makes you feel like you really matter. I really enjoyed everything Vicksburg had to offer, whether it was sports, clubs, etc. There no question about it Vicksburg High School is the place to be!
Any high school should strive to be the best it can be and Vicksburg does just that. No school is perfect though, Vicksburg has a few things to get better at. For a small school though the amount of AP classes and extracurricular activities rivals many larger schools. If your looking for a good football team, maybe not the best place to go, but when it comes to the arts Vicksburg is one of if not the best around. The Vicksburg Marching Band or “The Big Red Machine” is a highly award winning band, rivaling and outperforming many larger schools.
I have had a great 4 years at Vicksburg High School. I have learned a lot through academics, extra curricular activities and sports. Throughout my 4 years I have had good relationships with my teachers, coaches, and staff. Vicksburg has a wide variety of AP classes along with outside classes through EFE and other programs. As I look back on my four years I do wish I felt a bit more prepared to jump into college.
