The school itself was fantastic. Well maintained and pretty modern. The teachers 9 times out of 10 went out of their way to make sure a student would understand a concept, as long as the student tried before they asked for help. The students, well, the students were teenagers. They did silly things, some people made more friends than others, and some had interesting hobbies.

Only downside to VHS is the walking from freshman/sophomore/junior parking lots in inclement weather, as well as the fact that the school is next to a sewage treatment plant.

Vernon Hills high school will always have a place in my heart. The school itself is beautiful and is being improved upon each year. The teachers I have had over the years are extremely committed to each of their students. One thing the school can improve upon is observing teachers to ensure they are performing to their best ability. In other words, just because a teacher has been teaching for a long time doesn't mean they are still competent. I feel free at the school but the staff does get involved in private matters much too often then they should. I will miss the school dearly once I go to college because of the staff and the loving atmosphere that the school ensures I am apart of. I am also being prepared for college in a way I am sure many students who attend schools in other districts aren't able to experience.
Vernon Hills High School has a great environment that students are able to thrive in. Both the availability of academic courses and extracurricular activities makes VHHS a great place. It is also a very diverse school with a student body size that isn't too large which allows for great connections to develop. VHHS more than adequately prepares its students for college in both an academic and social sense. It is a very safe environment, and the teachers and staff are all very kind. Parents also have a place at this school which really factors into a well connected environment. I really enjoyed my experiences at this school.
