I loved that at Venture Academy you can choose which academy you want to be in for high school. Personally, I chose the BrainworX academy and I’m so happy I did. The teachers were amazing (and you have the same teachers all four years)! Venture Academy is such a welcoming place for everyone and anyone.
Venture academy’s number one appeal to me is the staff. They all have different teaching styles that align with their academy and most importantly are engaged with their students. They’re also very friendly and will help you if they notice you are struggling or if you ask for help. Another important fact is that Venture is slowly improving; example, their field and library. Even though there seems to be a lot of upsides, the downside for me was the shortage of teachers. For one of my classes in sophomore year, I didn’t have a teacher for the rest of the school year and this also applies to one of my classes in junior year. Conclusion, I think Venture Academy is a wonderful school and I hope to see more diverse languages taught, more teachers, more clubs, more sports, etc.
Before joining Venture Academy, I felt "Out of place." I was getting bullied at my old school, and I had gotten tired of it, so my parents and I decided to switch schools. Luckily for me, they switched me to Venture Academy. Ever since then, I felt like I belonged. Everyone treated me as how I treated them, and I have made many strong friendships from the time that I moved schools to now. I am extremely grateful that I am apart of the Venture Family.
However, I know there are not a lot of extracurriculars to do there, but there are clubs that you can make. As long as you review it with the administration first and as long as they are not inappropiate.
