I had a wonderful experience attending high school here! The small class sizes allow students to have a very impactful relationship with their teachers. The environment is relaxed yet intentional in prioritizing students' education and health. Some people did not appreciate the smallness of the school, as one persons' business eventually becomes everyones'. But if you don't have a problem with this, you won't have a problem with VHS!

I LOVED VHS. Literally such a fun school. It's super small so you end up knowing everyone in every grade. Sports are not super competitive which makes them really fun and easy to participate in. The teachers are so bomb and were not only teachers to me but also mentors, friends, and coaches. The classes at VHS are actually really rigorous which made me very very prepared for college. My HS Freshman classes were 100% harder than my College Freshman classes. Go Pirates!!
I enjoyed the encouragement to be involved and to participate in any activity. The school encourages students to go beyond academics. They also prep students well for college by having practice SATs, SAT opportunities, college prep opportunities and harder academics than a typical high school.
