College and SAT prep could be SO much better. There are select staff members that really push college prep and only help the higher achieving students which causes an academic division.
I’m almost done with high school and researching colleges/internships on my own helped me way more than any resource at Vanguard.
Most Vanguard students struggle in math and there are little to no resources to help. However, there are many resources for humanities subjects.
Lastly, the social aspect isn’t for everyone. Coming in freshmen year, I thought I would love a small community. Now, I hate it. The school is expanding with such little space. I feel highly claustrophobic. It’s really up to the person.
However, there are many benefits at Vanguard that do make it a good school (many extracurricular activities, close relationships with staff, power to students, students may go outside for lunch, school begins at 9 on Wednesday, etc). There’s just so much room for improvement.

First off, Most of the kids here are disgusting with behavior most ditch and most are just rude to some people. I am the only white Latina sophomore. Overall this school gets you ready for college it teaches you a head start. Some people laugh on the person who I’m dating which should not be a concern at this state and matter and should be on your schoolwork. Colleges look at how many times you dont go to school. If you are considering this school I would recomended to look twice before you register
Vanguard is a very diverse and close knit school! The students in the school are always looking out for each other, and classes are always bright and full of innovation!
