Vance County Early College High School Reviews
Rating 4.14 out of 5 22 reviews
I think my experience with VCEC was a good experience. The first thing i want to talk about is the environment. The environment was great. Because it gave me a glimpse and a preview on how college is going to be when i go to a four year university. Another thing is that i made a lot of great friends that i will have coming out of high school. A few things i would like to change is my high school class. I feel like that the rooms are very small. Another thing that i want to change is i want to bring more students to the school because i think that we dont have enough students in our school. And lastly, what i want to change the most, is the food. The food was very good at our school unless you go to the College grill. Which can be very expensive
I think that this school does a great job at holding its students to a higher academic standard. My experience here has been extremely positive but in my last year a staff change was inconvenient, but adjustments were made.
I would recommend an Early College experience for anyone to whom the opportunity is available. Not only does it reward hard-working, dedicated students with a free, advanced education, but it integrates young students into college life, integrates students in a much more diverse student population than provided at traditional high school, stimulates sociability with other students on campus, and thus, prepares students and makes them excited to apply to four-year colleges and universities and expand their minds further. The Early College program is very limiting; students take very generic courses without being able to explore other disciplines and hone in on something they would really enjoy, for the purpose of choosing a career when students graduate and transfer with two-year degrees. There also aren't ANY clubs. A lot of students also don't appreciate the discrimination by certain college professors on campus, that claim they "don't like teaching Early College students."
