In preparation for attending college, when I was in fifth grade, I enrolled in Valor Collegiate Academy. Valor is a public charter school in Nashville, Tennessee that prides itself on its social-emotional learning curriculum and on instilling an appreciation for diversity in its students. Not only has my time at Valor taught me a lot about other people and their cultures, but I’ve also had the opportunity to learn about myself and what I value. Valor has taught me to celebrate differences, rather than disregard them, and I am forever grateful for that.
Valor College Prep is a wonderful school fit for practically anyone. They make great accomidations to students who need it and for students who don't, they get the excellent learning that the school offers. The community is quite loving and there's always someone to befriend. The social and emotional learning is also pretty great.
The community at this school is very strong. I have made many friends and feel safe going to school. In my grade specifically, there have been no cases of bullying and everyone seems to be included and part of a strong group of friends. There is a very rigourous academic curriculum and a high level of diversity. The sports programs are also very successful and there is a lot of school spirit.
