Valley Oaks Charter School Reviews
Rating 4.18 out of 5 50 reviews
I have been homeschooled through Valley Oaks Charter School since I was in Kindergarten. The elementary (K-8) side is amazing! They offer enrichment classes and all the field trips (and a few extra) that traditional school go on. The teachers are all great and so helpful. The high school side took a little adjustment, but overall has been a great experience. I am able to take elective courses, like wood shop, that many of my peers in a traditional school setting don't have access to.
I will have not rather gone to any other institution for high school. Valley Oaks is a wonderful school with lively, respectful, and kind students and teachers who are very helpful and pleasant. It is known for a heavy workload, but it trains each student for college. I am very thankful that I was able to attend Valley Oaks.
After a track record of performance for K-8 homeschooling, we were able to bring in our freshmen high school curricula and books and ask to continue independently through high school (they keep our transcript for us). We were assigned a teacher to whom we report and submit our work to keep for the state portfolio. It has been a wonderful collaboration. I am so appreciative of their flexibility and care. We are able to use their college counselor and if we want to take a class here or there, we can. The best of all worlds for us.
