Valley promotes a caring and loving attitude and literally plasters it across every open wall space. But opportunities and acceptance seem limited. Students feel pressured to stay in state or go to one of the Concordia colleges since those seem to be our school advisor's only connections. Any political ideas outside of the right wing are frowned upon, especially by classmates and certain teachers. As a student who's pro-choice, I felt like my beliefs were seen as satanic and disgusting; like I was abnormal. When not discussing politics or the future, Valley is great for academics! I do feel like I was limited to more basic education, but the one-on-one time I got with teachers was priceless.
Throughout my years at Valley Lutheran I have enjoyed my time. From the caring faculty and students you always feel apart of the family! There is always a fun activity that you can attend, and make new friends. I would recommend Valley to anyone who is undecided, it will change your perspective to see the good within everything. While academics and faculty are always there for you, the school is one- hundred percent Christ centered!
Valley Lutheran is an excellent school with a great, Christ-centered, education. The low student-to-teacher ratio allows for a setting where all teachers know almost all students on a personal level. Whenever students are in need of help, whether it be academic, personal, or spiritual, teachers and students alike are available and willing to help. There are multiple opportunities at Valley for students to get involved in sports and clubs, as well as the ability for students to create their own club at any time, simply with the sponsorship of a teacher. Overall Valley is a great school with a very positive and inclusive atmosphere. As a senior there I am happy to say that I have enjoyed my time at Valley and have created so many memories and friendships that will have a lasting impact on me for the rest of my life.
