I had a great experience at Valley Lutheran High School. In short, I loved how I was able to participate in sports, in arts, explore my passion, and how I was able to express my faith.
Every student was able to practice alongside the varsity/upperclassmen in every sport. Also, the coaches did a wonderful job at emphasizing the team aspect of each sport.
Moreover, students were able to take part in other activities such as choir, band, and worship arts. I love how I was able to express my faith through Worship Arts, but also sing or play material that did or did not correlate with our faith in the choir and Band.
Furthermore, I am thankful, as a Mexican American, to be able to learn the language my family speaks and to dive more into my culture. Lastly, I am grateful for the opportunity to take a journalism class to explore my passion as a writer.
Some changes I'd like to see would be to include more languages, to be more diverse, and to provide more classes such as home-ec.

Valley Lutheran High School is very inviting and welcoming. It is a smaller, Lutheran high school, so the culture and atmosphere allows all students to be involved in many music, sports, academics, drama, etc. opportunities, and accounts for the close, family ties between students and teachers. Many AP courses are offered, as are a myriad of sports options, and choir, band, worship band, and drama are all very popular extra-curriculars. The best thing about Valley Lutheran is that students get to learn about the saving grace and forgiveness of Jesus every day through chapel, devotions, family groups, theology classes, and the kindness of peers and teachers.
VLHS has been an amazing school! The teachers truly care about and get to know the students. They used funds to constantly improve the buildings, build new ones and stay updated with technology. The academics are top notch and the availability of athletics, music and drama gives every student a place to shine and succeed. Graduates consistently head off to impressive colleges and universities.
