I had the best experience at Valle Verde Early College High School. The teachers are amazing. They care about each student and are willing to go above and beyond to help them. They want their students to succeed and reach their potential, not only at school, but even after graduation. All 5 of the children old enough to go to high school have chosen and been accepted to go to this wonderful school. Each one of us has had our own unique and exciting experience. We have all been challenged intellectually and have seen the rewards of our hard work. This school chooses the best of the best; people who are willing to put in the hard work, people who want to succeed in life, people who are in need of financial help, and so forth. I cannot say enough great things about this fantastic school!
Academic wise, Valle Verde is an pretty good choice and more so if you're planning on attending college. Experiencing college before actually attending college lessened my worries of it and boosted my confidence. A suggestion I would like to make is to check which classes are more beneficial to us students rather than looking for those that make the school look good. The high school itself is pretty small and you get to know almost everybody including the faculty, which is really nice. The teachers are really cool with us and my interactions with them were always positive. The school itself is made out of portables, so there is nothing protecting you while transitioning between classes. I like that we have open campus during lunch. Its only sport is cross country, but you can do them outside and join in EPCC. Favorite events are Fall Festival during Halloween and the Cultural Festival held at the end of the year.
Very sweet and friendly environment. Academics are hard and challenging, however rewarding in the end. Teachers are great and care about student's grades. Sports and music are lacking, however we have a dance and cross-country team, as well as art and music club. Expect to create long-lasting friendships at this school as we all treat each other like family due to our small campus. Faculty and staff are extremely nice and caring. Overall great school with outstanding academics and college readiness.
