Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Valencia. The academics though, can be very challenging for AP/IB/honors students. Some days, hours of homework and studying is required in order to succeed in these classes. These students, however, are very studious and their passion to do well is notable. Most of them are also involved in numerous sports, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. On the other hand, students only enrolled in regular classes are not as determined when it comes to academics. I personally have taken both AP/IB/honors and regular classes. Most times, the difference in academic level and determinataion between these classese is very prominent. Val Tech, another program at Valencia, is sa great way tfor students to learn more about technology and land internships such as Boeing.

As a current senior at Valencia High School, I can confidently say I've had a great experience as a student here. I have been given outstanding academic opportunities, such as the ability to participate in the IB Program, take AP Courses, participate in a thriving vocal music program, and be a part of countless clubs and activities. Furthermore, the teaching and administrative staff at Valencia are excellent at what they do, and they work to make Valencia an innovative and safe place to learn and grow as we transition into young adulthood. However, the school could use some updating, as the age of the school has left it looking a little worn down and dirty. However, these are minor issues compared to the quality of education at Valencia, which is absolutely outstanding.
Valencia High School (VHS) offers many opportunities and pathways for success, but the student has to be the one to initiate it. There are two special programs conducted by Valencia: International Baccalaureate (IB) and Val Tech (VT). Each program helps guide eager students towards success in college. IB introduces research papers and VT has internships. Low-income students have various financial aid opportunities in order to help pay for tests, prom, or other events. VHS has a degree of diversity: Mexican Americans around 60%, Asian Americans around 20%, and Caucasians around 16%. VHS has programs supporting 13 sports and has the optional summer training program. Negatives include: a few teachers have been known to berate certain students very loudly for simple mistakes and the bathrooms are almost always overfilled with students. Overall, VHS is a great school and its principles are that the student must make the most out what the school offers because the resources are all there.
