Urbana High School gave me the best experience ever! From academics to social life, there is nothing I would change about that school ,and I can list reasons why. First off, the staff. The teachers that work at urbana really do put in effort to get their students to where they need to be. I don’t think I where I was today if it wasn’t for the help of my teachers. Second, is the school pride. A big part of this school is showing your hawk pride. The community is so strong together that there isn’t a day that goes by that someone isn’t showing hawk pride. Lastly, our academics overall is amazing! Urbana has been named a Maryland Blue Ribbon School in 2019 and is the #1 school in frederick county public schools. Overall, Urbana is a great place to spend your 4 years of high school at!

My experience at Urbana High School has been very good. I would say my experience has been superb throughout my four years at Urbana for many reasons. The first reason my experience is wonderful is the support I have received all four years from the special education department becuase they have created a resource room for students like me who have an IEP (individualized education program) to take tests or to work on projects in a quieter room as compared to the general classroom where it may be louder. Secondly, is my experience has been over the top in the sports offered at Urbana High. I love the fact that Urbana offers teammates with and without intellectual disabilities to play together on Unified Sports teams through Special Olympics. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to be apart of the Unified tennis, Bocce ball and Unified track and field team all four years at Urbana. Finally, I want to thank everyone who has created an impact on my time at Urbana.
Urbana High School is an all-around phenomenal high school when looking at all aspects. Through academics, sports, safety, charity events, and the campus, Urbana High School ranks highly in all areas. The school was named Maryland Blue Ribbon school, being one out of six schools in the entire state. Urbana's highly achieving students show the emphasis put on the importance of our education. Urbana's class of 2018 is just one example, where $6.5 million was earned in scholarship money, and by their senior year 97% of students had taken IB, AP, or dual enrollment courses. Along with academics, sports are also valued by the students of Urbana. With 25+ state championships, Urbana's athletic program is one of excellence. Through many events and clubs Urbana raised over $150,000 for pediatric cancer research in 2018. While other high schools may surpass Urbana in certain aspects, when looking at the overall quality, Urbana High School is unbeatable.
