Urban Pathways 6-12 Charter School Reviews

Overall, I had an amazing experience at UPCS. At this school, I was fortunate enough to have a boatload of extremely understanding and patient educators that were always there to help, whenever I needed it. Although I had few bumps here and there, I'd return any day.
The education provided is worthwhile and the location is pretty convenient for students of all locations however it's pretty forgettable and not many people know it exists.
My experience at UP has been, in the least, A ROLLER COASTER RIDE!! I complain about it a lot, and always said I hated it there, but I honestly wouldn't have chosen to spend my high school career anywhere else. The environment is like being surrounded by family on Thanksgiving, except all school year long.
Its good as a college prep school you don't get the full high school experience but its good. I have been here for 5 years and It was a pretty good experience. The teachers are supportive and the teachers who stay love to teach. But its an okay school for academics and for college readiness we don't have lots of activities.
What I like about is that they really help if ur are about to fail or come to a failing point one thing can change is that they need to take more juniors on college trips instead of just senior and the food
Urban Pathways Charter school is a great school with a great staff. The students there are also a great group. You can meet people there that you can talk to forever and that will help you have a great experience.
My experience at Urban Pathways was an experience I wish I could improve. I wasn’t really given a lot of opportunities to really show any school spirit. I can only say there was only a selected few who I can really say had my back. They made sure I felt comfortable in the environment I was in. They even asked questions about how my life is going outside of school.
There are plenty of things that I enjoyed about Urban Pathways, like the award ceremonies, the dance parties, the awards given for good academics, the clubs and activities that are now available, and the laptops that are given to freshman-seniors. However, I am not pleased with the curriculum, the attitudes of the teachers, the dress code, the lack of a gym space for the real high school experience, the lack of resources, and the lack of diversity of teachers.
They only contact you when yoyr child is out of uniform theres a lack of student support no extra curriculum activites to contribute to students future careers the environment is loud the teachers plays favorites and there more concerned about the kids uniforms than focusing on ideas and buliding a better learing environment to help students able to have a better intrest on what they want to do as a carreer theres lack of communication through parents and teachers .....
What I liked about Urban Pathways Charter school is that it's a small school; everyone knows everyone like a family. I also like that the teachers are encouraging. What I dislike or would like to change is the lunches, certain teaching methods and sometimes for the principle to be understanding in some areas and compromise.
This is honestly the worst school I've been to. Barely anyone in this school have common sense. It's small and really bad.
I like that we finally have teachers that are there for us for all reasons. I don't like that most that we have no female sports other than cheerleading. I also dislike the food and how parents doesn't get called about anything unless it's uniform or behavior.
There's only one reason I would choose to go to this school if I had to do it all over again and that reason is how much they have helped me with the college process.
they don't offer enough athletics
the academics could be more challenging and geared towards students that want to attend college
they should watch student confrontation more closely
This high school's status and credibility has dwindled.
