My school has the best teaching staff, ever. It made me realize that teachers are not paid enough for their job, my teachers go out of their way to help students in their academic life or their personal life. I go to a small school so there are not many options for friends and outside of class our teachers are our friends. I'm always told by my teachers "I have too many kid friends, I mean look at me! I'm having a conversation with teenagers and y'all do not have to be here." I love them all so much and they are one of the main reasons I do not want to leave my school.
I attended Uplift Luna High School in its first and second year of opening. The teachers were mostly fresh out of college students and the sports and clubs were ran by these hard working teachers. They were young in a new school amongst students who didn't know each other. It was a terrifying responsibility but they all did an incredible job. The coaches gave their all in running the sports and the teachers who volunteered to support and mentor clubs were very willing and "always there." The older more experienced teachers showed a lot of love and care as well. This school emphasized and focused so much on college that not one student felt they couldn't make it. The small environment felt so roomy, by the end of the first year the first high school class of Uplift Luna felt like family. Not to mention, the school was located in Deep Ellum, the inner city of Dallas, which is likely the most creative, artistic, free-spirited area of Dallas. Scholars of Uplift Luna felt safe and comfortable enough to explore anything and everything they might grow a liking towards with the certainty they can receive a higher education.
As I said before; I love my teachers, I love my friends, I love the peopel at my school. Everyone is so nice and since we go to a small school it is not hard to iron out the wrinkles we may have. My principle is like everyone's mother, she gets on to us all the time, and she always carries a lecture in her pocket. I would not trade my high school for any other high school in the world.
