My son recently finished prekindergarten at USM, and I cannot speak highly enough about the education he received. The growth and maturity he experienced over that first year was remarkable and was a joy for me and my husband to witness. Not only did he learn the fundamentals in letters and numbers, he learned how to be kind, patient, to try new things, to work through challenges, and to be confident.

His teachers happily fostered his interests and applied their years of experience and knowledge of best-practices to his education. Not only are USM's teachers exceptional, the school's campus and facilities are unmatched, as well as its commitment to safety.

I love how the school encourages meaningful collaborations between students of all ages, how it teaches and upholds the standards of its Common Trust, and how it supports and engages with parents. We were thrilled with the education our son received and look forward to continuing our USM journey!

My children have been at USM for five years now and love it. They have a great group of friends from many different parts of Milwaukee and I've formed a great network with the parents as well. My husband and I originally weren't sure about a private independent school (we were both public school growing up) but the difference really is noticeable. Sometimes friends ask why we pay when we could get school for free but I figure we're investing in their future. We want them to go to great colleges too but these are the really important, foundational years. I also like the school's approach to safety, both in the building and social-emotional. The teachers know my children so well they feel like part of the family and I really like that I can talk to them so openly about how they're progressing. I wouldn't choose anywhere else for them!
For my college education I wanted to be in a diverse setting surrounded by people of different ethnicities, sexual orientations, cultures and races. I didn't think I could get that from a segregated city, but after attending the Transfer Student Orientation I was proven wrong. Within my 5 hours of being on the campus I was introduced to so many people of different class backgrounds, age groups, religious groups and much more. Having diverse professors, workers and administrators was the crucial deciding factor in my attendance of this university. I believe it's important to be able to see yourself in the people that you're looking up to or going to for assistance, especially when it comes to your future. UW Milwaukee has made me feel more comfortable than any other college/university I've ever been to, and I've been to two other schools.
