University Liggett School Reviews
Rating 4.28 out of 5 108 reviews
The teachers were amazing for the most part, although there were some that I did not necessarily get along with or learned from great. I enjoyed the small class sizes and student led discussions. As someone who only started at Liggett in ninth grade, it was definitely an adjustment, but I quickly found a group of friends. Later in my high school career, many of those friends ended up becoming my very best friends that I still talk to going into my sophmore year of college. The ARP project is definitely dependent on the student--I chose a difficult subject and it was a source of stress for me but something I ended up being proud of. Liggett definitely lacked in diversity when I started there, and while it wasn't necessarily diverse in my senior year, it had definitely become a more welcoming environment in some ways. Overall, Liggett is a wonderful school that needs to work on becoming a more diverse environment.
This is my second year in Liggett and I have had an amazing time. With all the great people I’ve met. The teachers are really nice. You will always find help when you need it. There are many activities to do outside of school as well. This goes along with sports, robotics, theater/acting and all kinds of other enjoyable events offered here. Lunch is provided each and everyday and the food is great. Learning is not rushed so you can be sure to understand everything that you are taught. There are several different electives to choose from. Also, Liggett includes the whole family. They host events that anybody can join in on. Sometimes there are events to introduce new families. There has been auctions, fundraisers, and fun events hosted by the school to raise money. Either way you should always know that you will have a great time at Liggett. Go Knights!
The school has a tantamount of resources at it’s students disposal and unlimited opportunities starting at Pre-K and all the way through to 12th grade. Since the school is smaller, students are able to connect with their teachers on a personal level which is very helpful just beyond educational reasons. I will say although the school has been working on it in recent yet years, in my time there, I would say that the majority of students live in a bubble of privilege. Therefore some diverse topics might be swept under the rug when brought up in class conversation but overall I’d say in the last year or two it has gotten a lot better and I think overall the school is good.
