My 7th grade son was in a public school where it became uncool to be smart. His grades were dropping, he missed assignments, and had some experiences with bullying. At ULS he is in a small class where he gets more attention from teachers to help him with organization and staying on task. The other students are kind and care about their grades, so it is a good environment for him to excel. The school has a welcoming community and strong, hands-on approach to learning. It's been great for our son!

ULS is academically rigorous and prepared our children for success at top liberal arts colleges and public universities. They considered their peers and teachers a part of their ULS family. That "team culture" encouraged my kids to take academic risks and try unfamiliar activities and sports. Overall, students are open-minded, respectful, and inclusive. Travel opportunities and exchange programs exposed them to diverse cultures; however, the beautiful, rural, natural environment limited accessibility to a more diverse student body. A shuttle service might make the school more accessible.
ULS is the perfect fit for our son! He is receiving an amazing personalized learning experience, with teachers that really know him. They encourage him to pursue his interests and challenge him to grow as an entire person. The focus on communication and presentation skills is second to none. He wakes up excited to go to school each day. We are so thankful to be part of this wonderful school community!
