University High School is a wonderful community where students can feel like themselves. The school itself sets a high integrity for their students. UHS holds the most amazing teachers who are extremely educated in their subject and are always willing to help the students better understand the material. They take lots of their time to go above the set standards in order to make the students feel comfortable in their environment. It would be nice to see University High School increase interactive learning on the campus rather the whole curriculum be based off of lecture and homework. UHS offers many college AP classes in order to prepare students for college and to provide college classes. Overall, UHS has the best students and teachers that make the school a better place to have fun while learning.

I liked the academic rigor of University High School, and that the classes at this school are organized to be college preparatory and beneficial to our futures. I also like the staff of teachers and counselors at this school, and how they are supportive and helpful. They genuinely care and cater to each student’s needs and abilities, and is able to work with them individually. I disliked this school’s overall competitive, pressuring and stressful atmosphere. Being one of top high schools in the nation, there is a strong sense to be the best and as a result students such as myself become very stressed with the workload and pressure. This has taken a toll on my mental health. However, as mentioned before, the teachers and counselors are extremely supportive and willing to be understandable and flexible.
I love my experience so far at University High School. Not only does this school challenge me academically, but socially too. University High School offers rich extracurricular courses such as: performing arts, debate club, local service outreaches and more! The students who attend University High School are outstanding classmates who push you to be the best you. The teachers at this school are some of the most helpful and kindest people you will ever meet. I would love for University High School to be able to have a separate campus, because our student number is rising and we are at maximum student capacity right now. Other than that, my high school is one of the best, nationally ranked at number 13, and my second home.
