I had the best experience at U-High! I absolutely love the close knit atmosphere there! They have such a wide variety of classes to take, including a lot of AP and dual enrollment classes, along with access to the BACC program at Bloomington High school. As a freshman in college, Uhigh has not only prepared me academically, but also with responsibility and time management skills through their open campus that no other high schools in the area offer. Uhigh has lots of clubs and sports too, which gives you lots of good opportunities to meet friends. The teachers are the best there and truly care about the students. If you ever need help, they are always willing to help. Loved the fun traditions like class night and Mr. Uhigh too! This school felt like family!
University High School has allowed me to be the person I have always wanted to be. I previously attended a junior high with no diversity and being at U-High everyone has welcomed me with open arms. Not only that but I have never felt more prepared for college. I get so many different hands on experiences with learning, different teaching styles, and more! As a freshman it can feel overwhelming attending a new school where you don't know anyone. With as many extracurriculars as U-High has it's incredibly easy to make friends. U-High is constantly sending out surveys about how they can better your high school experience or diversify it. I have never felt more welcomed and my voice is finally being heard. A big thank you to U-High for everything they have done for me.
I loved Uhigh because I felt like I was able to have a strong support system of teachers and coaches behind me pushing me to be my best and noticing and acknowledging what I exceeded. I didn't like how liberal it is and if you have a different opinion it is very easy for people to give you the cold shoulder. Teachers wouldn't but a lot of students were very liberal and would get mad at you if you offered another opinion respectfully. They might thing they were being good listeners, but then they would have to have the last word about why they were right and you were wrong. However, my experience when I ignored politics was a really positive experience.
