University High School sets high goals for all the students that attend here, in University there’s always a helping hand for you every need. The teachers will always assist you when you whenever you need the help. The staff are fair and polite. The students at University can always be trusted to come together and get a job done no matter them situations some students have with each other. It’s high school, of course there is going to be some type of drama, but the students always go to a responsible adult about their situations and don’t let it effect them and their grades in anyway. You can. expect many opportunities and fun experiences attending University High School in Newark, NJ.

I liked the diversity, kindness, and caring about University high school. Teachers cared about their students and students where kind to each other. I would not like to see anything changed!
Overall, my experience at University wasn’t bad. I was there since 7th grade (graduated 2017) and many changes occurred from 2011 to 2017. Changed principals 3 times, food options diminished, but I’ve met some amazing teachers that I will never forget. Unfortunately, many of these teachers are leaving the school due to the issues with the Newark Public Schools district, but hopefully the return of local control will encourage those teachers to stay
