Hands down, this is (by far) the best Islamic school in Florida. We have been to (or know students at) many other Islamic schools in Florida, and UAF has the best overall program. The teachers and staff are truly passionate and invested in each of the children, and from day one we were always treated with sincere kindness and valued as individuals. I love the diversity at the school, the fact that UAF provides real-world experiences, and there is a solid balance between academics, religion, and social/emotional well-being. All of the classes challenge the students so they are constantly growing… and the school works very hard to ensure the students are set up for success in the future. From kindergarten through high school, my kids have all had the best educational experience that I could possibly hope for. Like any school, there is always room to improve… however, I consistently see the school focusing on developing in all areas of importance.
I will start by saying there is no perfect school, but UAF comes so close to it! From the staff, to the certified teacher, and amazing admin this school is truly a gem! UAF offers a range of after school clubs, sports, and activities for the students. I have 3 children here, ranging from middle school to lower elementary and I have been truly satisfied with everything!
I have four children at UAF in both middle and high school. As an Islamic school graduate myself, and as someone who's both taught at and sent my children to multiple Islamic schools in the US, I am very impressed by the Islamic & academic environment at UAF.
The school offers challenging options, including honors & AP classes. The Islamic emphasis is clear throughout the school from daily morning Quran and athkar to incorporating Islamic values into daily education. The school principal & administration are making big strides toward systems that support Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion. UAF also offers sports opportunities and extra curricular clubs for students who are interested- as well as an after school Hifz program to supplement the regular Quran classes. As is the case at any school, students' experiences may vary depending on classmates and other factors, and as always, students' success relies heavily on parental involvement and support. Overall, I highly recommend UAF!!
