Unity Christian High School Reviews

The class sizes are small at Unity Christian compared to schools in the city, which can be beneficial when needing one on one attention from a teacher. The school provides a strong agriculture program, plenty of athletic opportunities, and opportunities for students interested in music and theatre. The only downfall to this school in my opinion is the judgment that is passed around between peers and teachers when it comes to an individual making a mistake, or in other words "sinning". Christians are called to love one another and not pass judgment for their neighbors short comings or mistakes, but when attending, it felt as if the culture at the school was to exclude anyone who didn't fit within the lines of what a Christian should look like, which is quite sad since nobody's perfect and we as Christians are called to love and care for all people. There is also no diversity and I have personally had many bad experiences with racism that teachers didn't care to take action on.
I love the community you are surrounded with. It is located in a small town in Iowa. It is filled with people of dutch heritage that allows you to enjoy the tulip festival each year. There are many surrounding churches, so you are surrounded by many others that love God and show kindness when you are in need. I would like to see more update facilities, but luckily the school is building a new wing with new ag, science, and sports facilities.
Unity Christian High School is a good high school that has respectable teachers and programs. They are diverse in academic, musical, and athletic programs. Their emphasis on Chrisitan learning is not for the faint of heart.
