Union County Vocational-Technical High School Reviews
Rating 4.04 out of 5 256 reviews
I'm a junior here and I've really enjoyed my time here. I go to UCTECH, specfically, and I feel like everyone here is very welcoming and nice. Of course, there are occasional things here or there that aren't great, but as a general school culture, it's really accepting. They really prepare you for college and give you a lot of resources. I would also say, that the cafeteria food isn't food, but that you should come here if you're considering it!
The curriculum in this school is very rigorous and challenging, which was difficult sometimes but definitely had its benefits. As students we're definitely treated as more than just high schoolers, and the coursework and responsibilities given to us are akin to those given to adult college students. The vocational design classes that I've taken are very thorough in their concentration on certain design subjects and I've learned a lot of valuable skills over the years that I've been here.
This school is amazing. Great academics, teachers are wonderful, administrators are caring and supportive of the students. This school is very diverse due to students coming from 21 districts within the county. There are no sports-students must go back to their home district for those, however, there are many clubs, Honor Society and philanthropic opportunities. Students get the opportunity to follow future career paths while excelling in academics. Seniors in UC Tech and Academy for Performing Arts get dual enrolled at Kean University and get to spend their senior year experiencing college and gaining college credits. My daughter is so happy here!
