Union County High School Reviews

To be completely honest they didn't prepare you or help for real world issues at all. One of the worse schools. They're mainly focused on our main big popular sports. We have our few teachers who actually show they care about you and are there to help you grow your education. If you have an issue they will not fix it. I am very thankful for the few teachers who were to help me learn and grow in myself. I cannot be any happier to get out of this school. I can't wait to see how the real world will actually hit me.
I would like to see a more diverse staff at the school. This will assist with connections to the students on a different level. The school provides an opportunity for college readiness, but it needs to be communicated more to the students.
School is a basic school. Teachers plays favorites. Athletes get favoritism and not in trouble for things. Not very good communication between counselors and students.
They are super biased towards students. They only let certain students be teacher's aids, they only get certain students in trouble, they only dress code certain students, and if you are not an athlete, they don't like you.
Where do I even start! As of 2014, when my parents officially told me we were moving to Union County, I have been nothing but genuinely content. Union County Schools creates the environment for ever single person, even visitors, that walk through their doors feels loved. The school, the programs, the way they were socially active, and even their staff is absolutely thrilling. I highly recommend attending Union County. Rather it’s in the High School or Junior High. It’s a experience you won’t forget!
My entire 4 years at UCHS have been great. Everyone there has helped me to succeed and to be prepared to enter college in the fall.
I enjoyed the sports and student sections at sports. I would like to see more students being challenged to prepare for college.
In the four years I went to school here it was okay. Obviously all schools have their catch but I overall enjoyed the opportunities they gave me. I wish they had supported the marching band more.
What I liked about Union County HS was all of the different choices of elective programs, the effectiveness of the teachers in the programs throughout my years in school have been very poor and the school should look for more professional teachers in the courses.
Some teachers do great to prepare students for the real world/ college, other teachers spend class taking with students and acting like more of a student than a teacher
I personally loved high school. It was an amazing 4 years filled with fun things to do & a lot of learning. I loved it!
There are very great athletics equipment given to either the P. E. Classes or sports. Though the girls locker room is significantly smaller then the boys locker room, which I see as a problem because our girls sports teams are important if not more compared to the boys sports teams.
There are mostly sports that are made extracurricular in our school, though with a tax happening soon there may not be any of these extracurricular activities ever again. Which would definitely be ashame.
I'm a vegetarian and I hated eating lunch here. The salads are awful, so I would eat french fries and pizza everyday. Healthy, right? The cafeteria is super meaty, high carb, and I'm so glad that I never have to eat another lunch here.
I felt like I had to jump through hoops to get anything done in the office here. The front desk workers are extremely rude. There's two main guidance counselors and only one is especially helpful. Bullying is tolerated; I was constantly offended in class by slurs that my classmates thought were humorous. The dress code perpetuates shaming girl's bodies. Overall, it's just not too great.
Sports are valued here. I wasn't an athlete, but from what I saw, the sports programs are pretty talented and well-maintained. The school holds several state championship titles for wrestling, so that's a big deal.
The amount of teachers who enjoy their job and the amount who couldn't care less is about half and half. While enrolled, I had a few teachers who always went the extra mile, and on the flip side I had a few who put in minimal effort everyday. The chemistry teachers are notably horrible with consistency. It's unfortunate, because teachers make or break a class here.
