Teachers: A large portion of Troy teachers are very hardworking and dedicated to their responsibilities as teachers. Many do go above and beyond their responsibilities with after-school tutoring, easy approachability, help with extracurricular events (Science olympiad, FBLA/business competitions, Economics competitions, etc.), and they are very open to writing college recommendations.
Curriculum: Most teachers do make their own teaching plans yet still follow along with AP, IB, and other requirements for passing knowledge exams and earning class credits.
Scheduling process: One month dedicated to helping students plan out their schedules. It tends to be a busy time and there are many miscommunications but most can be cleared at the start of the new semester if you wait in line or make an appointment.
Workload: Troy is known for its workload. Many students pull all-nighters or close to all-nighters very often, especially during weeks when every core subject's units end at the same time. It is not uncommon for students to depend on caffeine or energy drinks on a regular basis.
Special Study options: Peer tutoring clubs (student to student), after-school tutoring help (teacher to student(s)), teacher run after school sessions before AP testing, etc
Popular classes: AP US History, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Statistics, AP Lang and Lit, AP European History
