I have loved my time at Troy High School these past four years. Even though my sophomore year was Covid, my school has prepared me for everything I can imagine college will possibly be. I have great relationships with my teachers, they are truly in my corner and encouraging me to dream so much farther than I ever was when I started freshman year. I feel challenged in what I am learning but excited about what it to come. and I am a little restless, just ready to get going for what is next after high school. I think my time at Troy really got me ready for that! Troy has been so much fun with clubs and my soccer team and kept things balanced while keeping school going and life got busy. My favorite each year is the halloween rally when our sports teams dance and the pink game each year. Our student body takes over! I am definitely ready for the next chapter of life to start, but I will always love my time in highschool- go warriors!
Neither a particularly good nor a particularly bad school. Lot of dull homework at a relatively high academic level, although in my experience you get used to it after a while and can have a lot of free time if you work efficiently. School spirit basically doesn't exist. Food is pretty good. Would recommend for those looking for an academics-heavy school who don't care much about college admissions, or for those determined to get into an Ivy League school. For students aiming somewhere in the middle, around the UC level, Troy may not be the best choice; you will not stand out based on GPA, APs or even club extracurriculars where you could at a less competitive local school.
Troy High School is a very highly rated school in Fullerton California. It currently houses the Troy Tech, IB, and Cambridge programs all in one, and is known for building the toughest students for college. But what nobody understands before they come here is that the culture is meticulously built to give students depression and anxiety. Every nook and cranny of this school has competition, comparisons, and sleep-deprived students who do everything and anything to get into an Ivy League. In addition, there are very few mental health resources or even empathetic teachers. In the end, it is much better to go to a typical city high school rather than this glamorized rigor, as you will look much better in comparison if you are already smart. Very few and really excell in this environment.
