During my time at Trinity, there were some aspects really good for me, such as small class sizes. That being said, I, and several other alum from my time there ~10 years ago, experienced a culture of bullying that we did not encounter once we left (some after 8th grade, some earlier). The issue happened in multiple classes and age groups and to multiple siblings within a family, so it was not specific to one class. The administration did nothing to address it, and some teachers actually actively contributed to it. When I speak to some other former students, we agree that it did long-term damage and encouraged hostility against, suspicion of, and overinflated competition with our peers, which still affects how we form social connections within our workplaces and personal lives. I would look elsewhere for your child, as I know my spouse and I will be.
I can’t believe the administrators here haven’t done anything about the issues here people have been complaining about. I do like the fact this is a Christian School, but I don’t know about the mood of the staff, the obnoxious homework, or bullying problems that seem to be associated with it. Neat concept though.
Mr. Thomas, the principal, is a person of great integrity. He is also incredibly personable and takes an interest in each child there. The two pastors have gentle and loving hearts. They are very knowledgeable and love the children and their families. Mrs. Heiliger, who I’m sad to say is retiring, has been a huge blessing to our family in the 3 1/2 years we have been there. She is loving and gentle with everybody. The teachers have been wonderful! They invest so much time and energy and the children! There are so many special and extra experiences that the children get to have here because of the commitment and time investment by all the staff. Whether it is the ski days, sharing of their musical talents, being a part of an athletic team, going on trips, sharing their time and love with the elderly, or having the opportunity to put some of their ideas to work, Trinity offers children an experience like no other school I’ve ever known!
