‪I graduated 2 years ago. I loved the education I received from this school. It’s hard, but I loved it. However, at TCA, the girls are ruthless and very cliquey. The culture necessitates perfection. It was great transferring in my freshman year, and all of the kids were so great when I got there. But be warned: if you’re not a part of the “good kids” crowd (i.e. you’re funny and athletic and pretty to look at or have enough money or attend Watermark), then good luck feeling accepted. The culture here is dominated by rumors and gossip, and the administration doesn’t do a thing. They pick favorites and all leadership positions are usually given to aforementioned favorites. Don’t get me wrong, if you fit in, this school is going to be great and you’ll love it. But if your reputation is shattered by a mistake or a rumor, I can promise you that this high school will be hell.

Our daughter has blossomed in the lower school at TCA. She is advancing at an incredible rate and her teachers do an incredible job continuing to challenge her day after day based on what she is ready for on an instructional level. I have seen the real ways that her teachers care for her as an individual and as a child of God. At conference, the teacher was able to tell us about her compassionate spirit to her peers and gave us several different stories of times when she had seen and encouraged her Christlike spirit. I have seen the counselor meet another student at the front door to talk with a student whose dog had died the evening before. I have seen the Head of School ask a 3rd-grade child in the hallway how his grandmother is doing because she had heard that she had broken a hip. They know and care deeply for every individual child, and the results are incredible. If you can at all, send your child here. It will be the best parenting decision you've ever made.
I went to TCA for 12 years and graduated in 1986. I loved my time there and I have wonderful lifetime friends and memories. All three of my children either have or will also graduate from TCA. I have been a part of the TCA community for a very long time. I have watched it grow and develop over the years. I am so thankful that as TCA continues to improve and reach the next level as a school, it has never lost the founding purpose of “educating and developing the whole person to the glory of God”. My children have grown up in an environment of academic excellence where they have also been able to participate in multiple extracurricular activities (such as sports, fine arts, and leadership) all while Christ has been woven into each facet of their experience.
I am truly THANKFUL for TCA!
