Tri County can be very inviting to new students and is a school where everyone knows each other. They have a good environment, but lack diverse classes. Everyone goes down the same path no matter how advanced you are. There are only two AP classes available and limited dual enrollment opportunities. When it comes to scheduling classes, you have to know what you want and know the options yourself because they are not going to be presented to you. There are a couple clubs but most extracurriculars focus on sports or band.
Tri County is fairly lacking compared to other nearby schools. It's underdeveloped and has no air conditioning, no auditorium, or pool as seen with other schools. Some of the teachers are wonderful and others are unfit for working with young adults. I wish they would change their dress code policies to be less restrictive. Some of the other rules don't make sense, like I have to take math senior year even though I have all of my credits. They have, however, added some new classes and pay for Montcalm Community College classes that are on campus, so that's very nice. Tri County has made some improvements over the last couple years but still needs some work.
The teachers and staff are pretty kind, and they do try to provide the resources they can and maybe more if they could change the way the states education works. The students here are maybe the problem of feeling unsafe but they are all young and may find it hard to get their way around. The schools maintenance may need some work, for example; the bathrooms.
