Tri-Center High School Reviews
Rating 3.72 out of 5 29 reviews
Tri-Center is a great school to attend. The teachers and administrators genuinely care about the students and their well being. The academics itself are pretty average however, the school allows students to take online college courses for college credit through iowa Western for free! Students also receive a laptop from the school for homework. Athletically, the school is usually at the top part of the conference in sports. Typically the school is very good in men’s basketball, baseball, and women’s soccer and volleyball. The music program is very good here as well. I recommend this school if looking for a small community that is very close.
Tri-Center High School offers rural small town courses. The student body is small and has a small amount of possible friend groups, which is a good and bad characteristic. The courses are extremely limited. There are extended branches of courses into the agricultural and nursing field. If you are looking for journalism, computer science, STEM, or anything technology related look elsewhere. Tri-Center does not offer a Newspaper or any Journalism courses, though there is a Publications program. There is a STEM course which is mainly independent and is all based on what you can accomplish and find. The best teachers can be found in Comp I and II, along with Algebra II/Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry, and Chemistry. Tri-Center is extremely sport/athletic oriented. Overall, Tri-Center is a small town school and not afraid to show it.
The small community and family involvement is great for learning. So many school counselors, administrators, and teachers live in the same community and are vested in relationships between the school and families. The school staff are always working towards growth and improvement among themselves as well as the students.
