The teachers are very engaged. The school incorporates a team teaching approach which allows the school to seem small and engaging. For example, the 5th graders are placed in Team A and B. The teams are equal for academics. The team includes the core teachers, i.e., Science, Math and English/Language Arts. The team teachers are able to focus on the students and get to know them. Additionally, the teachers are very well trained. Every teacher responded to my emails or questions within 24 hours - and with the answer! They didn't just forward the emails to others to answer.

The best extracurricular activities were the sports teams. There were several different sports offered. The coaches were however not that good. They were usually just teachers who didn't really care so much about the players. They were just there because they wanted the credit. Other popular activities were chorus, band, and orchestra. These groups had many members. Other than these, there weren't that many clubs.
There was very little safety during my first three years there, but during the last year more surveillance equipment was installed and the doors were locked more often. In general I felt pretty safe. There was very little bullying and we had some lessons on how bullying affects the person being bullied and how to stop it. The school nurse was not very good. She didn't really do much unless you had a fever, which is when she sent you home. I once had a sprained toe and she said that there was nothing wrong with it and sent me back to class.
