Travis Early College High School is a very fascinating school. TECHS have many great opportunities for students. They have the Early College Program, which can earn you an Associate Degree for free! In addition, there are many activites and clubs that interests the students. I really appreciate how teachers and every staff at Travis work hard to grant the students desires, and to keep Travis a good environment for learning.

I graduated in 2015 so things may have changed. We did not have sports and gym had just been implemented. If sports revolve around your daughter or son's life they won't be happy about it. There was a couple of students in my class that played sports in their home schools while still attending Travis. The teachers are tougher than the professors. The current principal was the vice principal in my time and she was a delight! My problem isn't with the school but rather San Antonio College. There will be some professors that almost discriminate against TECHS simply because they are "kids". I was previously bullied in middle school and this was a safe haven. Bullies, if any, are not usually bright and if they get academic probation at SAC then they send the student back to their home school. Or they'll leave to have a regular high school experience. Getting funding or fundraising is a pain in the butt if the sponsor is doesn't help. You can buy food at the college. I loved Travis!
As a single mom's parents perspective this school is overall is great especially the fact that it is an early college high school. What a great way to get a head start to your college education while you are in high school. I wish they had a program like this school when I was in high school. The teachers here seem to be very helpful to the students as well as the counselors they see to reach out to students to help them succeed. My son is now a Senior and I have seen him grow graciously in his academics through out the years at this school. To me it's a great environment and atmosphere, everything a parent can dream of when selecting a school for their child! The only con is that they don't provide sport activities to students, if students are interested in sport activities they have to sign up with the high school district nearest their home residence, so at least they have an option on that.
