It was an incredible experience to have attended such tiny school and yet we had many things that usually come with a traditional high school. There's some downsides, such s being out in the desert and being in portable classrooms meaning that in bad weather we were always getting sunburn or wet by the rain. None the less, graduating with a diploma and college degree was the greatest experience ever!

Transmountain Early College High School, more commonly referred to simply as TMECHS, is an excellent school that has not only prepared me for college, but has given me the opportunity to take college-level and dual-credit classes in the process. Being a TMECHS student has allowed me to take college classes over the span of four years WHILE in high school. As a senior, I have just graduated with my associate degree at the age of seventeen! The best part about it is that we obtained it for virtually no cost! Additionally, being an ECHS student increases eligilibity for more scholarships. Even though we don't have competitive sports or advanced orchestra/band, TMECHS is the ideal school for any student that is academically inclined and college-bound!
This school allowed me to express myself with grace, and provided a sense of community, due to the size. The teachers were not seen as intimidating authorities by the students, but rather mentors who demonstrated genuine interest and companionship. We were no regular high school, though. We were given the incredible opportunity of obtaining a high school diploma and 2 year college degree simultaneously. Personally, it never seemed like a difficult journey for me, because there was always someone around me who was caring enough to assist me when I was in need. It is a wonderful school with many hidden gems - from academics to new found friendships. I will always look back to the time I spent there as the most defining and profoundly impactful years of my life thus far.
