Tracy High School Reviews
Rating 3.76 out of 5 413 reviews
My first year at Tracy High was an extremely busy and packed year. I became involved with my schools leadership as the class of 2025 vice president and got thrown into a-lot of activity planning and making the class feel like a family after coming back from covid. It was a hard challenge, and like many other schools, we had a hard time with student participation and spirit. A-lot of people didn’t partake in the things we would host and it would make me feel bad when a-lot our work never got noticed. Another thing was coming into a big school from a small middle school, I was excited with all the club and extra curricular options that I took on more than I could handle. That was a very big mistake and I became quickly burnt out. Other than that, I made some very strong bonds and it was overall an amazing learning experience. I am very happy with my experience and wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Tracy High has provided me an amazing High School experience that is truly unforgettable. From my experience in this school, I’ve made long lasting friendships at the school, learned in a positive environment, and met kind and professional teachers. Academic opportunities in my school is a long variety like the IB program, information about all types of scholarships, and sports scholarships too.I honestly love this school but I also see the things that can be changed so it can be a better school. Things that I wish to be changed in the school are more sports inclusion because from my experience I didn’t feel super welcoming trying out a sport. Facilities in the school could and should be remodeled as there are many non working toilets, writing on the walls, and non working faucets at times. There isn’t much diversity in the school and some particular teachers can be discouraging because they still use their old school ways to teach students. Overall, this school could use some work.
When I started attending Tracy High I didn’t feel the most welcoming environment but that was also during COVID times which would make sense why everyone was already doing their own thing. Later on once I was settled in I started involving myself and I found that the football games were very enjoyable, that’s probably been my favorite school event so far. I also like that the school is very diverse and diversity is all included through clubs like Latinos Unidos, Muslim Student Association and so on. Something that was tough about attending Tracy High was the lack of communication with counselors when I was a freshman, I was new to the school and I hadn’t attended in person school for over a year so I had no clue what to expect and the counselors wouldn’t really reach out to us to try and guide us. I understand that students have to reach out too but as a freshman even that can be scary so I think counselors should reach out to the freshmen during the first week of school for support.
