I like that this school offers a lot of challenging AP and Honors classes, as well as a career center for students to focus on and educate themselves in their interests for future careers. One way Toll Gate can improve is by changing a few rules. For example, there is a rule that if not enough students sign up to take a class, then it gets canceled and is not available for that academic year even though about 10 students were interested in that class. Another issue is that there are not enough teachers that are qualified to teach many classes, so in some classes, even the teachers are learning at the same time as the students.

My experience is mixed about the school. Toll Gate will always be my stomping ground no matter what. I love the friends I have met there and will miss some of the teachers who teach there. However, the environment could be better I wish there was more school spirit. I wish more people supported each other like other schools. There are also some coaches who have ruined sports for me. However other coaches have inspired me to work harder and want to get better. Overal my experience was okay nothing special.
The teachers were understanding and were always there to listen when you needed help as long as you applied yourself and showed you cared. The school was nice, but what made this school stand out was the support teams. The student assistant counselors were terrific! They help hundreds of students and genuinely do care for the students.
What I would change would definitely be the Senior Project. It is very overwhelming for students to have the fate graduating be on one thesis paper, a completed binder of a track record of things from the past 4 years, an entire mentorship and a main project. Not to mention the 7 classes a day you still have to juggle. You could accomplish all of this proficiently and still not be able to graduate also. At the end, you are judged in a presentation by few faculty, and some volunteers who don’t know students graduation depends on this. You could pass in everything perfectly but if you present poorly, you do not graduate.
