From Toledo Technology Academy of Engineering
Toledo Technology Academy of Engineering, a Toledo Public School Grades 7-12, is focused on engineering and manufacturing science technologies. Every student - at every grade level - participates in hands-on learning labs starting with LEGO Robotics in the 7th grade. Students are challenged in our academic classes that focus on project-based learning which captures their imagination and fosters participation. TTA’s goal is to produce students that are able to find their own way to a 2- or 4-year degree, obtain an apprenticeship, join the military, or become gainfully employed after graduation.

I have attended TTAoE since I was in the 7th grade back in 2018, and I am now a Senior. I've seen the in's and out's of it, and I can say, for certainty, it's the best in Toledo, maybe even Ohio. It's extremely manufacturing, industrial, and engineering-based, giving you industry-standard certifications from places like OSHA, FANUC, and Autodesk Inventor. With small class sizes, a very close community, and plenty of industry connections. Throughout the years, you learn how to work in teams, communicate, manual machines, CNC machines, pneumatics, robotics, DC electronics, and 3D CAD modeling. It's a perfect school for anyone interested in engineering.
At Toledo Technology Academy you will learn a lot about mechanical and electrical engineering as well as some programming. All of this is a great experience but in the end, this program seems to get students more prepared for a career than college. You are also limited in what engineering you can learn there. There is also virtually no counselor at this school making applying for colleges and scholarships that much more difficult, as you have to navigate the process alone. There are also a few teachers and several administrators who seem to prioritize the school's image over the students, which has led to a mental health decline in many students, which the administration covers up along with other important issues at the school, like sexual assault or self-harm. Overall, you will receive a good education from this school and understand the fundamentals of engineering but sometimes the school atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired
It's a very good school in both its common core curriculum as well as its engineering lab classes. If you plan on going into an industrial job or career out of high school, TTAoE is perfect for you. We have high-end equipment for machining and manufacturing you won't find in other public school programs. The small class sizes mean you get great connections with your instructors.
