TIA is a tight-knit community that sees very little change over the years, which renders its students knowledgeable of everybody in the school system, but also oblivious to everything happening outside of the school's doors. In order to help these students, most of which come from Muslim families, acclimate to our society, there needs to be more opportunities for the children to explore beyond their classroom. Volunteer opportunities and extracurriculars should be implemented on the regular, and clubs like theatre and various foreign language classes could be useful to the students. Some students grow up believing a career in the sciences is their only way to success while in TIA, but this myth needs to be dispelled immediately. Teachers and students alike should work together to implement new programs that instruct through a new perspective of more inclusivity and tolerance.
