Very welcoming and good STEAM program. But the high schooling sucked. Would recommend for elementary through middle school if you are fine with religious antivaxers as fellow families.
I loved going to Three Rivers HomeLink. My education was tailored to who I am, how I learn, and what my goals are. I was encouraged by the faculty constantly. The learning environment is amazing, I was encouraged to research what I was interested in and connect it to what I was learning.
Homelink is a great school for elementary and middle school students. But when it comes to the high school program, my opinion becomes a little shaky. Here, we have the option to take classes online, on-site, at a different school, at the Tri-Tech Skills Center, or through the Running Start program. This is something I love about the school and have no issues with. The freedom I’ve experienced here has been essential in preparing me for college. What I do have an issue with, is the administration. Misinformation and disorganization is rampant among them. The other thing to keep in mind is the lack of a social scene. With so few high school students (my graduating class is 11 people), it's hard to make friends. There are no clubs either. But on the brighter side of things, the teachers are generally very dedicated to their students and parent involvement is high. Even if you’re an offsite student, the teachers will know you by name.
I loved how it was a very close student to teacher ratio. All of the teachers were super nice, and would help you as much as they could. It was a family type of school.
There was one hard lockdown drill we had where our new principle forgot to give the correct dismissal protocol. The science teacher also was in a dangerous situation as he had to hold a piece of cardboard over the window in our door since there wasn't a proper blind system on the window.
I go here for the flexible education and that we can build our own curriculum. Many of the online courses they offer are good, but onsite classes are less than satisfactory.
Some teachers are far more engaging than others in this school. Most only do what they need to fulfill for the state requirements though, and they teach by the state tests.
The health and safety rules that are imposed at Three Rivers Homelink are very strong. At this school the administrator is a major advocate of safety and encourages students to stay safe and healthy. For example, homelink has areas of the parking lot marked with cones so that students can safely get to their parents vehicles and to other class rooms. Another safety precaution that homelink imposes is that the elementary students need to have a parent at the school when they are on site. This ensures that the kids will be supervised and will be safe.
The athletic facilities are great. however you have to go to other schools to use them and participate in school sports.
