I’ve been going to Thornwood for 4 years, and I’ll say it is what you make it. If you participate in extracurricular and actually come out to support another, then you’ll really enjoy the school. The classrooms are a respectable environment. If there’s any problem, the teachers will for sure be there to help. The administration is great! I like how they are really trying to make the school fun, but at the same time a learning environment. They also push us students.

One thing I like about attending Thornwood high school is being apart of the track team! I really enjoy the fact that Thornwood has a lot of sports, clubs, and so much more that suit everyone. Meaning, everyone can do something and actually be involved. One thing I would like to see change is the school spirit. The students don’t take much pride in the school and I really wish that would change.
Thornwood High School is a school with bright students but is not organized in its ability to teach those students and all students deserve a chance on an education, even if they reject it. Personally, it would be great if we celebrated and taught culture, there's a rift between our African American students and Hispanic students. Before schools were being shut down, it was decided to do something more for the students to embellish themselves in the culture of each other. Our school doesn't have the resources to deal with stressed out students that take IB and AP, and doesn't value our band and smaller clubs unlike the sports. There are some great teachers here and have taught me valuable lessons and have adjusted themselves to individual's ways of learning and we do have the programs to help those who need it.
