This is our family’s first year at TEECS. Having transferred from a public school, we really feel the difference. TEECS provides a quality education with a higher academic standard and a more in-depth curriculum so the kids learn a lot more. The teachers are dedicated, offering free tutoring after school and Saturday mornings. Home visits by the teachers was also a nice touch that helped our kids adapt to the school. Moreover, in a K-5 public school, there usually aren’t many extracurricular activities, but at TEECS, K-5 students are offered a wide variety of clubs after school, ranging from chess, robotics/STEM classes to soccer, tennis, Bollywood Dance, Zumba, swimming, and lots more. We are very happy to be part of the TEECS community!
If you go to their website, this is the first thing you see:
"K-12 School in the state of NJ to focusing specifically on green/renewable energy."
I didn't leave anything out; that's actually the way they wrote it. Would you trust these folks to teach your children writing?
Don't get me wrong, most of the teachers are dedicated (I worked there). But the administration is terrible. They have no idea what's going on, give no support to the teachers, and don't care about anything as long as they make money. Most of the teachers I met there wanted to find a different position.
The parents I met (they forced employees to go around to students' houses and penalize you if you can't do it enough) were mostly either indifferent, or thought they were far superior to us. A student cursed me out once; when I contacted the parent, she said I deserved it.
I've had worse experiences in charter schools, but not many.

Thomas Edison Energy smart school is a very progressive school teachers are very nice and always will respond to any emails you send them, teachers are also very caring about their student's mental health, they are always available to help after school or any day that the student is free. Teachers are very flexible and understand about assignments and will postpone many to focus on one subject. Teachers are very confident in all their students, if any student has any problem teachers will try their best to assess the situation and help the student find a solution. TEECS is a very on the game school they are not hovering over their students and bombarding their students with work but they do push you past your own limits.
